On Friday 4th January 2019, Undine Chapter No. 3394 celebrated its centenary convocation. To the very day, and in the same location as its consecration, MEZ E.Comp. Ivor Middleburg, H E.Comp. Clive Snell and J E.Comp. Terry Mirams presided, at Loughton Masonic Hall, 100 years on.
With more than 70 Companions in attendance, a dramatised version of part of the Exaltation Ceremony was excellently delivered by the Essex Provincial Grand Stewards Demonstration Team.
Following this, the Chapter were delighted to receive the Deputy Grand Superintendent, E.Comp. Cliff Thoms, the 2nd Provincial Grand Principal, E.Comp. Clive Rees, the 3rd Provincial Grand Principal, E.Comp. Phillip Campbell, and the Assistants to the Provincial Grand Principals, accompanied by a retinue of Acting Provincial Grand Officers.
The 3rd Provincial Grand Principal delivered a most engaging oration, based on the temperance movement and its connection with Undine Chapter.
Following this, E.Comp. Colin Keeping, Scribe E of the Chapter, delivered a short summary of the Chapter’s history.
The Deputy Grand Superintendent was then pleased to present Undine Chapter with its Grand Patron Certificate for the Festival 2022 (pictured below).
After the recessional procession, a truly memorable Festive Board followed.
A wonderful evening and a great way to mark 100 years of Undine Chapter.
